The challenge
Did you know that you can get a cup of coffee at Lidl? The German retail chain has introduced these affordable cups of coffee to make shopping just that bit more enjoyable for its customers. Lidl wanted to bring this upgrade of the shopping experience to the attention of the public. The company asked us to present this tasty cup of coffee just as tastefully.
Our solution and its execution
Manageable, practical and sustainable: with these three values in mind, we started the process. We made a replica of the carton coffee cup, but then enlarged it into a giant cup. These could then simply be placed over the coffee machines. A coffee cup covering the coffee machine: that will stand out.
The cups were produced by pouring polyester strengthened with fibreglass into a mould. This makes them very suitable for a clean finishing. In this case, the artwork on the cups was added by using stickers. The result: colossal coffee cups which even make the largest latte grande look tiny.
The success of these cups was so big, that we are now taking care of the production and distribution for all the new Lidl locations in Europe.
